Oak Park Project

The Oak Park Family project includes multi-family housing on four parcels encompassing on a contiguous 6-acre property, near existing senior housing facilities. One of the three existing single-family homes on-site will remain and will be utilized as a manager’s unit for the family development. The project also proposes to construct a community building ideal for providing a community space and supportive services for both Projects. A large part of the property will also be preserved as open space, to help preserve multiple mature oak trees on the property. Read more.


Tonea Senior Project

The Tonea Senior Project will feature 103 total 1-bedroom (615 SF) apartment homes at affordable rental rates, in a village like setting of 1 & 2 story buildings nestled in an established neighborhood, directly south of DeGarmo Park, in Chico California. The Tonea Senior Project will offer on-site management, on-site laundry facilities, vehicle & bicycle parking, a community center with resident activities, an outdoor terrace courtyard, and a community garden. Mountain Meadows Reservoir Acquisition

At the request of the Maidu Summit Consortium, Watershed Science wrote an indicative proposal to acquire Mountain Meadows Reservoir from Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 2021, when they put the Hamilton Branch Facility for sale. Read more.


Neal Road Preserve

At the request of California Open Lands (COL), Watershed Science performed a delineation of Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) on the Neal Road Preserve, an easement held on parcel 040-600-082. The Neal Road Waste Facility is owned by Butte County and managed by its Public Works department. According to the 2001 draft Environmental Impact Report for the Neal Road Landfill Expansion Project, the expansion and construction impacted 4.94 acres of jurisdictional wetlands and other waters. To mitigate for expanded waste management activities, the 3-acre Neal Road Preserve was created on-site and held in a Conservation Easement with California Open Lands, a non-profit land trust. The approximately 3-acre conservation easement that comprises Neal Road Preserve (the Preserve) is in Butte County and is surrounded by the region’s landfill, Neal Road Waste Facility. Read more.


Southgate Invasive Eradication Project

The Southgate Invasive Eradication Project includes a 47-acre broadcast burn south of Chico, California. The underburn project eliminated Yellow Star-thistle (Centaurea solstitialis) while concurrently providing firefighter 2 training for 20 employees of our partner organization, Firestorm Wildland Fire Suppression, Inc.
